Designer of the first NATAN collection for Edouard Vermeulen, the young designer MP Coudeyre has launched his own ready-to-wear line last year and I discovered his FW 11-12 collection during the press days at PURE.
Here is a selection of my favorite pieces from his lookbook which I find visually amazing and so sophisticated…
Koi Collection FW 11-12
Avalon Collection FW 11-12
Black Renaissance FW 11-12
Desigual made public their collection for Autumn-Winter 2011-2012, which will have 30 garments designed by none other than Christian Lacroix. The whole story here.
Explanation of the encounter by the Spanish brand, and theirs plans for the future: “The aim was a breath of fresh air for the brand, Lacroix-style clothes within the Desigual’s Universe. It is all about uniting creativities; brains and hearts working together. But as in any relationship, there is always a beginning. And the beginning was love at first sight. Now Desigual and Monsieur Lacroix have fallen in love. They are getting to know each other, little by little, they are discovering each other, they’re getting intimate. That’s why clothes designed for autumn winter 2011 are just a first encounter between both universes, with so many common points, yet so many differences. It is in the spring-summer season 2012 that this love story will have matured and will bear its fruit: more clothes and accessories.”
A few days ago, I had a crush on one of Nicole Richie‘s looks, all from her second line, Winter Kate. I analysed more the picture and I managed to come down to ONE item that I would really die to have in my closet (very interesting exercice btw, more or less the same idea as “you end up alone on an island, you can keep just ONE thing – what do you choose?): her georgous blue velvet shorts.
Winter Kate, Saxon Velvet Short, $ 165 (sold out)
Then I saw Alexa Chung created the same shorts for her collection forMadewell and got all happy on my fashion island… But where will I find my winter shorts? …
Alexa Chung for Madewell, $88 (sold out!!)
Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer to that question yet, but I’m working on it… Instead, I bought velvet black leggings, because they were 30% off and also because I thought if I’d get really desperate I could cut them shorts.
Velvet Leggings (Remember... leggings are not pants)
Dragging our “duvet” to the street, a way like another to get us out of bed…
Price: 349,-€ in the stores or online, www.napapijri.com
When it’s night at 5pm, your hair’s electric, your heels slip like clumsy penguins on ice-floe and you’re still waiting for the invention of street-heating; it’s about time to start making the most of the Winter…
This is when fashion happens to make your life better, again, bringing out a range of wearable duvets we name scarves.
This F/W, according to strongly relevant sources, the scarf to wear will be what they call SNOOD, meaning circle or tube scarf, that simply doesn’t have an end. So you just toss it around your neck like a necklace and then you can wrap it around a couple of times or drape it to make a funky shape… It’s gonna be so much fun.
- Tube scarf unknow, too bad
